The toughest Challenge our athletes face is funding! FanEQT and ProTouch Africa are working to ignite the global fan base. Through its Podium Pursuit Collective, PROTOUCH’s vision is to unlock the full potential of athletes from Africa, by activating fan engagement through its Fan App and its Athlete Impact Fund planned for Q1 ‘24. FanEQT is helping the South African Field and Hockey5s Teams raise sponsorship for the upcoming Hockey5s World Cup in Oman and the Road to Paris ’24 preparations in Europe.

• Hockey is played by 206,000 South Africans

• 76% of total adult participation is between ages 19 to 34

• Black African participation constitutes 56%

• 158,000 participants are between the ages of 13 to 18

• Hockey has a 50/50 gender representation.

“I have been involved in the sport for almost 3 decades with the help of my single mom. Being the first Black Woman to Head Coach a South African National team to a World Cup is a testament to what a single mother can inspire and achieve. I was born in Lesotho and moved to Johannesburg to join my mother over 30 years ago. I use my life experience and worldly knowledge to uplift and inspire the next generation of black women to reach their potential”
